Candlelight Memorial Service in Memory of Children Who Have Passed

A candlelight memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16, in the Community Room of Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. No matter when you lose your child, the grief process can be very difficult. Finding a way to honor and remember them may help. Avera Queen of Peace invites the public to join us for an evening of hope and healing as we remember our children who have died. The event will include special readings, songs, a candle lighting ceremony and decorating of a memorial tree. Refreshments and a time for sharing will follow. Participants can bring their own unbreakable ornament with the date and/or child's name on it, or they can use one Avera Queen of Peace will have available that evening. The memorial tree will remain in the hospital lobby throughout the Christmas season. Ornaments will be saved and stored at the hospital to hang in memory of your child for years to come.
